Camel Safari in Rajasthan

In the 16th century camel caravans crossed the mountains to the North of India along well-trodden paths, laden with precious spices and goods. Today's Camel Safaris attempt to recreate something of that spirit of adventure. The Thar Desert in Rajasthan with its vast stretches of sand, dotted with dunes and its own specially adapted shrubs and wild life is ideal territory for a camel safari. Our expert navigator and the villagers on the way, add color to an unforgettable experience if you are prepared to sit out the somewhat uncomfortable but adventurous ride. You would not only have the thrill but will have an opportunity to gain first hand experience of rustic environs, an opportunity to mingle with the local villagers and to know the real Rajasthan.

CAMEL SAFARI (CST-01)

Day 01 - Arrive Delhi

On arrival you will be met by our representative and transferred to the hotel where we will be holding the rooms on ready occupancy basis. Stay overnight at the hotel.

Day 02 - Delhi

Morning city tour of New Delhi covering Qutab Minar, Humayun Tomb, India gate, President's Mansion, drive past Parliament House and the Laxmi Narayan temple. Afternoon take a city tour covering Jama Masjid, Red Fort and Gandhi memorial. Stay overnight at the hotel.

Day 03 - Delhi - Mandawa

Morning drive to Mandawa, on arrival check into the hotel. Afternoon, visit haveli's -beautiful old mansions with frescoes. Stay overnight at the hotel.

Day 04 - Mandawa - Bikaner

Morning drive to Bikaner, on arrival check into the hotel. Afternoon, city tour covering Junagadh fort, Jain temples etc. Stay overnight at the hotel.

Day 05 - Bikaner - Jaisalmer

Morning free to enjoy the city atmosphere. Afternoon drive to Jaisalmer. On arrival check into the hotel. Stay overnight at the hotel.

Day 06 - Jaisalmer - Badabagh - Baisakhai - Ramkunda

After breakfast start by camel for Badabagh: The site of royal cenotaphs of Bhatti Rajput Kings (Earlier rulers of Jaisalmer) Have lunch at Baisakhai: a typical village, visit a Hindu temple then proceed to Ramkunda, a holy place with beautiful landscapes and Hindu temples. Dinner and overnight stay in tents.

Day 07 - Ramkunda - Roopse - Ludharva -Chatrayil

After breakfast proceed to Ludharva via Roopse, a mixed caste village with mud and stick houses. Have Lunch at Ludharva, visit Jain temple and proceed to Chatrayil, a traditional and typical Muslim village. Reach Peerawal. Dinner and overnight stay in tents.

Day 08 - Chatrayil - Salkha Beri of Kanoi - Sand dunes

After breakfast, proceed to Salkha: a traditional Rajput village. Have lunch and proceed towards Sand dunes. Via Beri of Kanoi: a place packed with water wells. Here you can see how the ladies balance pots of water on their heads as well as their colourful dresses. Reach the sand dunes. Enjoy the dinner, desert folk music and campfire at the sand dunes.

Day 09 - Sand dunes - Kanoi - Masoordi - Jeseiri

After breakfast, proceed to Masoordi via Kanoi. A typical carpenters village. Here you can see and buy beautifully carved wooden items. Arrive Masoordi and have lunch. After lunch, proceed to Jeseiri: an Oasis with a beautiful landscape. Dinner and over night stay nearby.

Day 10 - Jeseiri - Dedha - Deegasar - Kuldhara

After breakfast, proceed to Deegasar via Dedha. See A Rajput village and the lifestyle of the Rajputs. Have lunch at Deegasar: a place with a beautiful landscape and a small lake. Proceed further for Kuldhara via a small Rajput Dhani - A typical group of houses where people stay while cultivating their agriculture fields. Arrive at Kuldhara, where you will see planning of villages in ancient times. Stay overnight at camps.

Day 11 - Kuldhara - Moolsagars - Amarsagar - Jaisalmer

After breakfast leave for Jaisalmer via Moolsagar and Amarsagar. On arrival, check into the hotel. Rest of the day free to relax. Stay overnight at the hotel.

Day 12 - Jaisalmer

Full day city tour covering Patwon Ki Haveli, Salim Singh Ki Haveli, Gadi Sagar tank and Museum. Stay overnight at the hotel.

Day 13 - Jaisalmer - Jodhpur

Morning drive to Jodhpur, on arrival check into the hotel. Afternoon, free to enjoy the city atmosphere. Stay overnight at the hotel.

Day 14 - Jodhpur

Enjoy a city tour of the Clock tower, Mehrangarh fort, Jaswant Thada. Stay overnight at the hotel.

Day 15 - Jodhpur - Jaipur

Morning, drive to Jaipur. On arrival, check into hotel. Afternoon free to relax or enjoy the city atmosphere. Stay overnight at the hotel.

Day 16 - Jaipur

Morning enjoy an excursion to Amer Fort, with a joy ride on an Elephant. Afternoon city tour covering Hawa Mahal, Jantar Mantar - the Royal observatory, City palace, Johari Bazaar. Stay overnight at the hotel.

Day 17 - Jaipur - Delhi

Drive back to Delhi. On arrival, proceed to hotel where we will be holding a few rooms for wash and change. After wash and change have your dinner and be transferred to the airport to catch your International flight.
