DAY 01 - CHENNAI

Arrive at Chennai. Full day tour of Mahabalipuram and Kanchipuram. The former was the main port of Pallava dynasty & has exquisite rock-cut monuments, monolithic structures and bas-reliefs. It is also a beach resort. Kanchipuram is famed for its hand - woven cottons and Kanjivaram silk. In the evening reach the railway station to board a night train for Trichy. Overnight on board.

DAY 02 - CHENNAI - TRICHY

Morning arrive at Trichy & transfer to the hotel. Afternoon tour of Trichy visiting the ancient temples dedicated to Lord Ganapati - 434 steps cut out into the rock side and interspersed with shrines, lead to the temple, yet another flight leads to the temple of Lord Shiva. The ascend is climaxed by magnificent view of the sacred Cauvery river. Visit Srirangam, a massive temple dedicated to Lord Vishnu, which contains within its walls - a bazaar. Overnight stay at the hotel.

DAY 03 - TRICHY - MADURAI

Morning drive to Madurai enroute visiting the famous 9th century Chola Temple Brihadeshwara at Tanjore. Check in at hotel.

DAY 04 - MADURAI

Morning half-day sightseeing tour. Visit the great Meenakshi Temple dedicated to the consort of Lord Shiva with its towering Gopurams (rising high above the surrounding country side). Later visit the Tirumala Nayak Palace - a gracious building in the Indo Sarcenic style, famous for the stuccowork on its domes and arches. Afternoon is free for other activities. Overnight at the hotel.

DAY 05 - MADURAI - PERIYAR

Morning drive to Periyar National Park. Overnight stay at Periyar.

DAY 06 - PERIYAR - COCHIN

Morning drive to Cochin. Check in at hotel. Overnight stay at the hotel.

DAY 07 - COCHIN

Morning half day tour to visit the Dutch Palace, Jewish Synagogue, Chinese fishing nets, & St. Francis Church. Afternoon is free. Overnight stay at hotel.

DAY 08 - COCHIN - BANGALORE

Morning transfer to airport for Bangalore flight. Check into hotel. Overnight stay at hotel.

DAY 09 - BANGALORE

Morning full day excursion of Belur and Halebid. The Chenna Kesava Temple of Belur built 900 years ago is an exquisite example of Hoysala art. Halebid's 12th century Hoysaleswara and Kedareswara temple are masterpieces of Hindu art. Overnight stay at Bangalore.

DAY 10 - BANGALORE- MYSORE

Today morning drive to Mysore. On arrival check into hotel. Have a city tour. Overnight stay at hotel.

DAY 11 - MYSORE - CHENNAI

Transfer to railway station for train to Chennai. Arrive & transfer to hotel. Overnight stay at Chennai.

DAY 12 - DEPARTURE

Morning is free for leisure. Check out at 1200 hrs. Transfer to airport for return flight to your home or for onward destination.
